TREATMENT OF VENECTASIA (rupturing of superficial veins) The treatment of venectasia
is not a medical decision, but a personal choice. The way people
see themselves will define them as persons, identifying them in society.
Some women do not view venectasia as something that puts them at a disadvantage,
but many women who have such broken veins on their thighs will find personal
satisfaction in the results of the surgical procedure. The presence of
venecstasia may create psychic discomfort because women find it impossible
to wear short skirts for fear that the broken veins are visible. Your friends and the
members of your family may tell you their opinion regarding this procedure,
the plastic surgeon may offer you medical advice, but you are the only
one to decide what is best for you. This type of surgery
has become common practice since the 80s and a large number of women have
reaped benefits from the procedure. If you are dissatisfied with the aspect of the skin on your thighs due to the presence of these veins, this procedure will offer you the possibility to change your look for the better. SURGICAL PROCEDURE This type of surgery
is performed by injecting sclerotic substances into the superficial veins
in order to produce their thrombosis, putting them out of use. There are three types
of such substances: sclerotic detergents, osmotic agents and irritating
chemicals. Of these, Aetoxisclerol (a sclerotic detergent) is most commonly
used. The injection is performed
with a fine needle, progressing from large vessels towards the smaller
ones. After injection the area shall be dressed compressively. The procedure requires
no anesthesia and implies only minimum pain. Generally, the
procedure will last under one hour depending on the number of areas
to be treated and the type of substance used. This procedure does not require postoperative hospitalization and the patient may go home immediately after the operation is performed. POSSIBLE COMPLICATIONS There are several possible complications such as dermal necrosis, thrombophlebitis, intra-artery injection, pulmonary embolism and temporary pigmentation of the skin. Follow the plastic surgeon's advice in order to avoid such complications and side effects. POSTOPERATIVE
EFFECTS Usually, current activities
may be resumed 2-3 days after the procedure. The treatment will
remove venectasia through sclerotherapy and will restore a youthful and
aesthetic aspect of your body. This will make you more confident, because
your new look is pleasing to the eye. The emotional and psychic benefits of the procedure are an increased confidence, a better self-image and a great personal satisfaction. SPECIAL INFORMATION · Wash thoroughly
